Fire Retardant Coating
FIRE RETARDANT CABLE COAT
Cable is source of fire and means of fire spread. Cable burning produces poisonous acidic gases that is hazardous to life. This hydro chloric gas even corrodes cable trays and steel. Fire retardant cable coat normally make it difficult for external fire to be caught to cable and retards the fire spread and smoke generation, when applied on visible surface of cable bundle or cables in trays.
Cable coat is recommended to be applied 1.6mm DFT as per FM 3971 guideline and for full length. However it may be applied with a DFT that has passed the test as per IEC 60332-3A. Cable coat may be applied at critical areas like entry, exit, bend, crossing, joints etc, in a band of 1.2 meter for optimizing consumption. However, it is always recommended to apply full length in a riser.
Wood is combustible but combustion process is slow, once char is formed. However, wood can cause deep seated fire also. Wood is also common building material besides used as decorative, doors, windows etc. The amount of wood used in public place like large Hotel, Libraries , Museum etc, increase the calorific values of fire, when it happens.
For decorative wood item, Fire proofing is carried with 3 paint system : Transparent Primer, Sanding, Transparent In-tumescent varnish or paint of multiple coat for fire resistance rating up to 60/90/120 min, sanding and followed by transparent top coat varnish.
For fire proofing up to 120 min, other wood items like doors etc, are to be treated in same manner as transparent varnish system except, the in-tumescent coat is white in color. If fire rating is not required and the wood item is to be made fire retardant, the wood can be painted with in-tumescent paint only.
Fabric Spray
Fabric spray is a Water base fireproofing spray, that is non toxic, hypoallergenic, colorless, order less liquid.
-Passes NFPA 701 for meeting life safety code.
The chemical is sprayed to both side of cloth like curtain after the cloth is cleaned. Heavy like rug, carpet etc need rinsing. The chemical is dried with air dry. Once applied, the cloth retains fire retarding character up to 5 or 6 washes. The chemical is non toxic and does not leave salinity on cloth and can be applied to any kind of synthetic or natural fabric, paper items etc. However, it is highly recommended to test sample on fabric, before spraying allover or rinsing the cloth.
It is Suitable hospitality industries and for incorporating additional flame proofing ability to fire retardant uniforms. The spray is highly effective for exhibitions and parties.
